Today, PC Grimshaw and PC Booth have been carrying out proactive mobile patrols in response to reports of ongoing anti-social behaviour around Union Street and the Roman Street Car Park.

During patrols, officers engaged with three males who were found to be intoxicated, consuming alcohol, and causing an obstruction to residential doorways. Such behaviour can have a significant impact on local residents, making people feel uncomfortable and preventing easy access to their homes.

As a result: 

One individual was issued with a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) warning.
Two individuals were issued with Community Protection Warnings (CPWs) regarding their behaviour.

All parties were spoken to about the impact their actions were having on the local community and were advised that failure to comply with these warnings would result in further action being taken against them.

The individuals were issued with the relevant paperwork and directed to leave the area, helping to ensure residents and visitors could enjoy their sunny Saturday in the city centre without further disruption.

We would like to reassure the community that proactive patrols by the Neighbourhood Policing Team will continue in and around the area based on information and concerns raised by residents and local businesses.
